picture our anniversary

Considering that we only did date for a total of nine months, we have been married for almost as long as we have been together! June 6 was also the seventieth anniversary of D-Day, as well as a popular day for celebrity break-ups. I hope that’s not an omen.

The day began with Geoffrey getting ready for work. After he left, I got up and took care of our three pets that decided that it was a perfect morning to each have a minor medical issue. By 8 am, I was already out with Truman for our morning run. When I got back I opened my anniversary gift (Photoshop!) and spent the morning trying to install it while working on the HS Store. I quickly became frustrated with the program’s software so I had to enlist the help of my step-father to finish it for me. I sold a few items, got ready, and went into town to meet my friend for coffee.

By the time Geoffrey got home after work, he had less than ten minutes to eat supper. We usually try to cram many things into our days and nights together and that day was no different. The movie that we chose started at 7 pm. He hurriedly changed and we drove to a field where we had our first joint photo op in almost a year. Then we drove into town and purchased our tickets to see Locke which to our good fortune was playing at our favourite theatre. However, while we were waiting we were told that there was a technical problem with the film and that the showing may be cancelled. So we waited, Instagrammed, and waited some more. Finally, we were told that everything was in working order. Thank goodness, because it was such a good film.

After the movie ended we picked up some iced coffees and went home. Geoffrey took Truman for one final walk and we fell asleep watching The Adventures of Babysitting. Does it sound like a random and somewhat hectic anniversary? Yes, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. The way we spent it pretty much epitomizes how we have spent the last four years as a married couple. The real relaxation will happen this week while we will be glamping in the same national park that we visited last year. I can’t wait to share the photos with you all!

Have a great week, friends!
