terrarium side table : a beautiful mess

6a00d8358081ff69e201b7c7c396cb970b-800wiOh. Em. Gee. Guys, I have fallen in love and there is no turning back! Just look at this Terrarium Side Table DIY project that was featured on A Beautiful Mess a few weeks ago. Is it not a must-have for all plant lovers alike? Originally inspired from this book, Emma chose to make one and put her own spin on it. I think that it turned out beautifully!

what i bought

Cell Phone Case 4Readers, how often do you replace your cellphone cases?

I bought my first iPhone nearly two years ago. You can read the post here. As a blogger, I must admit that maintaining emails and various social media platforms is greatly improved through the use of Apple products. While I was initially opposed to the popular brand, my trepidation was purely unwarranted. I can honestly say that an iPhone alone made my online presence much stronger than prior to owning one.

Cell Phone Case 1My first case was incredibly cute, and always reminded the little girl in me of Bugs Bunny. This time, I chose a cover by one of my favourite designers, Marc Jacobs. A black and white case, with hearts, and a dog? How could you go wrong?

Cell Phone Case 2If you would like a few more cellphone ideas, please check out this simple and stylish Wooden Cellphone Holder tutorial. It’s just as useful as a case itself!

our trip in photos

Jan Lake Lodge - Trip 4Happy Labour Day, Canada and USA!

Jan Lake Lodge - Trip 1In keeping with the holiday theme, I wanted to share with everyone the pictures that were taken on our most recent vacation. I chose to do things a little differently this time around. Rather than relying solely on my digital camera and iPhone, I had purchased a disposable camera prior to our trip. I was worried that I was going to quickly burn through 27 photos, and would need to buy more than one. To my surprise, it was actually the other way around. I found myself being extremely selective about what I chose to document. Come the last day, I had not yet used the entire roll. Keep in mind that last year, I took over 300 pictures with my Canon.

Jan Lake Lodge - Trip 7Jan Lake Lodge - Trip 6While the quality is much more grainy, and the cost of the camera and to develop the photographs came to around $40 (a little steep), I actually think that I prefer to use rolls of film rather than digital prints. It made me much more aware of my surroundings, in addition to cherishing the results that much more. Besides, there’s nothing more exciting than waiting a few days to see the results. At least for me, that is.

surprise, i’m pregnant!

Baby Anouncement 4Did you see that?! Did you happen read my amazing news in the title?! It turns out that I am pregnant! Cue the choir of angels, pop the champagne bottles, and so on. :-)))

IMG_9659While I am incredibly happy and excited now, this news had initially come as a complete shock to me. Yet, that shock was short-lived. Almost immediately after finding out that we were going to have a baby, the awful morning sickness set in. For the past two and a half months, I have been extremely, extremely ill. Everything from my work life, to my personal life, to my social media life has suffered as a result. Without revealing too much, I will say that I was bedridden during this time with crippling migraines and violent all-day sickness. Then everything suddenly changed last week when I had my first ultrasound. After seeing a tiny beating heart on the screen and such a perfect profile, I felt a change wash over me. Whether it’s because I am out of my first trimester, or because I now know what I am fighting to stay healthy for, for the first time since June I feel truly happy and physically a little bit better. I no longer wanted to keep this news a secret, but to share it with everyone who has been a part of my life over the last two years. So here you go!

Baby Anouncement 5Our little one will be joining our family at the beginning of March 2016. I cannot wait to meet him/her!

Have the most glorious weekend everyone!!
