yards and yards of gravel

The Little Barn Gravel - 3Hey guys! Well, we finally did it. After a year and a half we took the plunge and ordered gravel for The Little Barn’s driveway. Above is a photograph of how the house looked before the gravel.

Processed with VSCO with a6 presetGeoffrey ended up spreading all eight yards of gravel with merely a shovel and well into a few evenings. This was taken while he was distributing it.

The Little Barn Gravel - 1Now our home no longer looks like it’s been neglected. All we need now is an address sign and fence. Baby steps.

Looks great you guys, just in time for the open house. All the best!

  2. My thoughts? Pick that little beauty up off its foundation and bring it to Noght Owl. I love absolutely love every corner of your home and it is weeping for mountains….just think of all it could see with those amazing windows. O Little Barn the things you would see up on the mount. The quietness, the stillness of the early morning. Hummingbirds zipping around, peering in your windows. Your doors would be swung wide to breathe the crisp, fresh air. And best of all, a little bright eyed baby girl would be so close to Gigi. Her hand in mine. We would share stories. I will teach her what I know. She will grow up with ponies of her own. Mountain daisies in her hair.

    Just a thought….

    • This is beautifully written. However, my days of following my mum across the country are over. Now I have my own little girl to worry about. So unless you plan on moving back to Saskatchewan, this won’t happen.

Maybe we could start will a visit? She will be 3 months old next week and her Gigi has not yet seen her …

  3. Looking great Emory!!! xx

  • Welcome, friends! My name is Emory. I am a wife, mother of two (one earthside and one with the angels), and an animal rescuer. This is our life on the Canadian prairies.

  • I was intending for this video to only be in my stories. After watching it again and again, I decided to post it in my feed as well. I wish to never forget moments like these. Remy’s typical game of asking to go in her crib only to throw everything out of it and pretend to go to sleep. Or her new one- taking her rings in with her and playing with them (after she throws everything out, of course). She makes me say every colour before going to the next one. Then she stacks them up, gets out, and shelves the toy until we have to repeat the game all over again. I let her make her messes all while trying to spend every waking and spare minute with her. These are our days and rituals. I don’t know about you, but I certainly don’t wake up with this much energy.
