father’s day

Processed with VSCO with a6 presetThis Sunday is Father’s Day. As I celebrated my first Mother’s Day this year, so, too, will my husband be celebrating his first Father’s Day.

I couldn’t find a more wonderful man to have a child with. I love how you call her beautiful as if it were her name. I love how you always try to get her to smile. I love that in the evenings and on the weekends she’s always in your arms so that I can have a break. I love how when you get sad when you can’t soothe her, only because it shows your tender side. I love how you agree that she was the best thing to ever happen to us. I love how you buy her gifts without me even asking you to. I love how you do all of the diaper changes in the middle of the night. I love how you want to spend every waking moment with her. I love how she’s only been with us for four months, and we now have the rest of our lives to grow with her. Most of all, I love you so much more now that you’re a father.

  1. So beautiful! It’s my husband’s first Father’s Day, and I’m always in awe of how amazing he is as a dad. I love him even more for it! I hope you three have a wonderful day celebrating together. :)

  2. Lovely tribute. Wishing Remy always has a best friend in her father. Father’s are for safety, instruction, and should be a girl’s first love.

Happy first Father’s Day son in law! I am thrilled you have found your purpose in life…that little bundle you love to hold!

    • Oh I hope that her first love is her dad. I never experienced that for myself. You were lucky to have Gedo.

      • I was lucky Emma. I apologize for choosing a dolt to be your father.

  3. aw, sweet! Happy father’s day to your husband and congratulations on your wonderful family :D

Thank you Em, that was so touching and sweet of you to post. I’m just trying to keep up with you as a parent. I couldn’t ask for anyone else in this crazy trip of raising our daughter. Love you and her to pieces♥️♥️

  • I was intending for this video to only be in my stories. After watching it again and again, I decided to post it in my feed as well. I wish to never forget moments like these. Remy’s typical game of asking to go in her crib only to throw everything out of it and pretend to go to sleep. Or her new one- taking her rings in with her and playing with them (after she throws everything out, of course). She makes me say every colour before going to the next one. Then she stacks them up, gets out, and shelves the toy until we have to repeat the game all over again. I let her make her messes all while trying to spend every spare minute with her. These are our days and rituals. I don’t know about you, but I certainly don’t wake up with this much energy.
