taste of saskatchewan

img_6620Hey guys! You may have noticed that I took a little break from blogging. The fact of the matter is that I have a teething baby at home, and it took all of my energy to keep her content during the day. She recently went from one nightly feeding to waking up three to four times throughout the night. Taking care of her fussiness, all the while not being allowed to consume caffeine was exhausting. But she seems to be doing much better now, so I can return to blogging.

img_6623Last week we were able to steal some family time and visit the annual food festival that occurs in the city every summer. Over thirty vendors and sixty bands attend this event. Each restaurant generally offers around three of their bestselling and unique dishes. The idea is to go and try as many as you can.

img_6624I was boring and just got fish and chips from Joey’s. Geoffrey was a little more adventurous and tried dishes from Saskatoon Asian and The Canadian Brewhouse. We’ve gone to Taste of Saskatchewan a few times in the past. I wasn’t sure how it would be this time with a four month old baby, but Remy did amazingly well. As long as we’re outdoors and there are things or people to see, she’s a content little girl.

img_6618The weather was also really beautiful that evening. After grabbing our food, we went and sat alongside the river. There we watched the skidoos and listened to the live music. Afterwards, we went for a walk.

img_6619I think that this was our first official outing/date as a family of three. I can’t believe that we have waited this long, but in reality, it doesn’t really bother me. It was such a special evening. I really do love my new family.
