books remy loves: the classics

I must confess that I actually took these photos a few months ago with intentions to use them right away. However, too many more urgent blog posts needed to be published, hence the delay. That said, Remy still adores these books, and so the post’s relevance has not changed!

Goodnight Moon and Dear Zoo are two very sweet, and very classic children’s books. They’re also both amazing for two totally different reasons.

Dear Zoo is visually a very simple book. Each animal comes in a different cage- that of which the door opens. It therefore has the added bonus of being a lift-the-flap book. Plus, it has animals. What child doesn’t love a book filled with animals?

Goodnight Moon, on the other hand, is filled with delicate illustrations, colourful pages, and the best rhymes. It’s such a gentle and lovely little book.

Goodnight Moon remains one of my favourites to this day. I didn’t know that it came in a board book option until Remy’s grandma and grandpa bought it for her. I’m so glad! She loves it, and will look at it over and over again by herself throughout the day. I’m not sure why it’s so popular, but children and adults alike seem to love it.

I’m curious, readers. What are some of your (or your little one’s) favourite classic books? Please let me know in the comments below!

Anything by Dr. Seuss :) fox in socks maybe. I’m so glad she loves books! It’s adorable to see her crawl over to her little bookshelf in the morning and start pulling out her favs. She then sits there and slowly and thoughtfully flips through each one, occasionally looking up to catch my eyes and saying “huh.” I love our mornings together before work ❤

  • Choose love. Thank you all for the love on my previous post. Grief is an awful thing that each and every one of us go through. I'm so thankful for this amazing community of wonderful people. I know I haven't been very present on it lately (or probably too present to some of you), but much has changed and I'm trying to focus more on "real life" as opposed to these beautiful, tiny squares that offer us snippets into other worlds. That's not to say that I find @Instagram any less important! I still consider it to be a vital part of social media and love it to death. I'm merely going through personal stuff. I plan to return to posting daily once things have settled down over here. Until then, keep showing me photographs of your lives. I cherish such views. (Here's a picture from last week's engagement session.)
