acreage video tour

Hello! Today I am publishing a video tour of our new acreage. We have neither had the time nor money to make any real improvements to the interior yet, so I thought that it would be a great idea to document it now before we do! That way, I can see the changes over the years to come. It will also allow you guys to have a better understanding of our latest home. :-)))

I will add that received a few messages with my previous post regarding everything going wrong. What I failed to mention was that our home was actually a foreclosure, which means that we bought it in “as is” condition. This made us very nervous, but at the same time we would not have been able to get it as quickly as we did or for the price that we did. So, it was a gamble (but one that paid off in the end).

Enjoy the video, lovely people!

sweet creature

Last week I returned to the beach located just a few minutes from our old home. Remy and I used to walk there each day. We spent every morning at this secluded beach, from when she was 3 months old until she was 6 months. Then we moved. Why did we? I nearly forget.

I decided to spend the afternoon there with her and Truman after missing it immensely. It was such a windy day, but was also so hot. It was a nice combination, and both of us loved being back there. We didn’t want to leave.

I’m not a perfect person. I have a hard time dealing with change, and often I don’t give things a fair shot. I probably give up too easily, and I listen too much to what others say. I’m trying to work on all of these things, and am forever trying to better myself. I know that I will never be perfect, but contrary to what some say, I am a genuinely nice person who puts others first. Confused? Yes. Selfish? No. Trying to carve out a nice, simple life? Definitely. Most everyone deserves happiness. I will keep trying until I reach that point where I know I am exactly where I am supposed to be. I feel as if it is just around the corner.

Happy Monday, friends!

sign of the times

My goodness. Is anyone else as obsessed with this song as I am? I can’t help but share it, as I’ve been listening to it and only it on repeat ever since it came out. From the lyrics, to his voice, to the melody, and the length of the song, it’s all done to perfection. The fact that it’s written from the point of view of a mother is just the icing on the cake. Don’t get me started on the video. Although it was shot in Scotland, the combination of the warm tones, grey skies, and water reminds me so much of Saskatchewan.

I was never a One Direction fan. Harry Styles, on the other hand, you’ve got my heart.

1st birthday: video

Processed with VSCO with a4 presetI am amazed that my darling Remy will be celebrating her birthday in just two days. Although I have been preparing for her party for over a month, to have a one year old is shocking.

This last year was by far the best year of my life. My life only truly began once I had my daughter. Before her, I think that I was lost. Now I have a purpose.

Remy is an intelligent, independent, and serious little girl. She loves to talk and eat. She adores books, animals, and being outdoors. She has two teeth, can say four words, mirrors every sound we make, is learning sign language, crawls, and is so close to walking on her own. She looks like her daddy but has my personality. She and I just get one another.

This last year was not always easy. From acid reflux, to work and school, to all of our family residing in another city or province, to living in three different houses. Yet, the fact that we always had a little face smiling up at us seemed to make every challenge almost or completely bearable. I tried hard to cherish every moment of every day with Remy, and in the end, I very nearly did.

Thank you for joining me in my pregnancy and baby journey. I will always be grateful for our little girl and how she made me a mother. I hope that you enjoy this video that I made, and will continue to follow along for the second year of her life. You guys are honestly so amazing!

9 months

9-months-oldRemy is officially nine months old today. Her biggest milestone this month is that she now walks while holding our hands. She also showing major signs of teething again, so hopefully this month she will get her first tooth! Girl is slow in her teething game.

I’ve also included a video of her playing her favourite game with me. At the end, she is showing off another one of her latest tricks. She belongs in a circus.

Have a wonderful weekend.
