24 weeks / 6 months pregnant

Baby girl weighs over 1 lb and is approximately 11.5 inches long. She now has a sense of touch and can tell the difference between light and darkness. Her face is fully formed- complete with hair!

I feel her kicks, punches, and rolls pretty much all day long. She is incredibly active and already reminds me of Remy in that way.

My big ole belly is only getting bigger and, well, older. My face and legs are swelling and even after four pregnancies the stretch marks are coming in hot! But who cares?! It’s all temporary.

We growing more excited by the day to meet you, little one.

24 weeks

Friends! I’m now 24 weeks pregnant. Or 6 months, if you are counting literally. This will also be the last month of my second trimester.

I have been so lucky over these last 4 weeks. I have had next to no symptoms, aside from daily heartburn, the nightly swelling of my legs and feet, and periodic Braxton Hicks contractions. Looking back at this time with Remy, I see that I was also feeling great and established a really productive routine during the day. This must be the magical time of pregnancy for me, at least. I cannot say the same for all mamas with great certainty. If only all pregnancies were this easy. ;-)))

Here are a few more facts about growing babe:

– he/she weighs about 1.3 lbs
– now measure him/her head to toe
– his/her skin has a pinky hue
– he/she can taste what I eat

So far, I’ve gained around 18 lbs. It’s more than I would have hoped for, but as long as we get a healthy little one, it is worth it!

6 months

Processed with VSCO with a4 presetHi everyone! I had mentioned in my last post that I wouldn’t be returning until September, but it’s our little brat’s half birthday today. How could I not honour her in a blog post?

Processed with VSCO with a4 presetThese are the things that she loves so far:

– to grab everything
– to throw and knock over toys
– to watch us eat
– to roll around
– to talk
– to suck her toes
– to drink water from a glass
– to listen to and watch her nursery songs
– to be outside
– to be scared
– to hold hands
– to have her face stroked
– to be kissed
– the colour yellow
– all living animals
– to drink a bottle of breast milk

Processed with VSCO with a4 presetHer biggest milestone so far is that she is now crawling! We officially have a crawling baby on our hands.

Processed with VSCO with a4 presetSix months has come and gone so quickly. Tomorrow we will get the keys to our new house, and thus will begin a new chapter in our lives. What an amazing year this has been so far, and it’s all because of Remy.
