If you are a twenty or thirty-something female blogger living in North America, you are probably aware of Swedish Hasbeens. For those of you who have no idea what I’m talking about, no, this isn’t another way to describe a group of European beatniks. Rather, it’s an expensive and popular brand of footwear. They’re quite beautiful, really.
I believe that the fame of Swedish Hasbeens has skyrocketed ever since Elsie and Emma from A Beautiful Mess began to work with them. Since then, they are rarely seen in anything but Hasbeens, as are those who work with them and fans of the site. I, myself, have never owned a pair. One reason is because if you’ve learned anything about me from reading my blog, you will know that I like to be different from the crowd. That is not to say that I don’t follow trends. However, if and when I do, I make sure that it’s my own version of a trend. My mum often tells me that I always find the most roundabout way to do things. I think that she’s right.
Another reason why I am not a Hasbeens owner is because in my opinion, the shoes make the model’s feet look so little and narrow. While I do not have wide feet, I prefer shoes that fit very loosely, to the point of being too big on my feet. Call it the tomboy in me, but I like chunky shoes! Is that weird?
So, wanting to own a pair of beautiful clogs, but not wanting a pair of dainty-looking Hasbeens, I stumbled across Lotta from Stockholm. What a match made in heaven! Not only does Lotta contact you herself when you order from her website, but I find her range of footwear to be more alluring, unique, affordable, and what I can only assume to be more comfortable than Hasbeens. This latter fact is most important given than typically stylish footwear for women are not usually easy to wear. Lotta from Stockholm clogs most definitely are!
I bought my first pair of clogs from Lotta over a year ago and dedicated one of my first fashion posts to them. They have stood the test of time, and still look as new as the day that I took them out of the box. It has been a love affair ever since.
More recently, I expanded my little collection when I bought the Sanita Mina clog boots. I believe that they will be perfect for harsh Canadian winters. After posting a photo of me wearing them on Instagram, @lottafromstockholm and @sanitafootwear have both regrammed the photo on their accounts. I should start charging for all of this free publicity. Just kidding. ;-)))
I mean, do I not look extremely happy?
