what to pack in a hospital bag

What to Pack in a Hospital Bag - 1Just like our diaper bag, figuring out what to pack in a hospital bag as newbie parents seemed like an overwhelming responsibility at first. After consulting many online lists, as well as my sister (don’t forget the snacks!), I think that we now have a pretty good idea as to what we will need. Here is what we will be taking to the hospital:

What to Pack in a Hospital Bag - 2We are bringing a cooler and ice cream pail in order to transport my placenta. It has to be kept over ice until it can be encapsulated. As for our baby, we were given the same outfit that my husband went home in from the hospital just over 30 years ago. We plan to bring him/her home in it. Here’s hoping that it will fit!

What were some of the essentials that you needed at the hospital whilst in labour?

i have a stunning new niece!!

i am so thrilled to be able to write this post and to share this news with the entire world!! my beautiful and brave sister brought her into this world on 09/09/13. (how lovely is that birthdate?) now baby makes six for their ever-growing family. do you know what though? they truly are the nicest, happiest, and sweetest bunch ever.

however, followers, this little angel is still without a name. i would love to hear what you think she should be called, since everyone in our family has chosen a different moniker!

here are a few tips to keep in mind:

1. my nieces and nephew have traditional names

2. they also have names that begin with a vowel

3. their last name begins with the letter ‘h’

of course, i will let you know when they do give her a name. maybe it will be one of yours! ;-)

06/06/10.

DSCN1603tomorrow is our wedding anniversary.

oh, how these past three years have gone by so quickly!

so far in our marriage we have: 1) moved to another province, then moved back. 2) one of us graduated university, and then started and stopped additional schooling at a college. 3) both of us gained careers. 4) together we leased our condo, sold our condo, made numerous offers on other properties, and then bought a house. 5) we bought vehicles, and sold vehicles. 6) we acquired a cat, a fish (r.i.p. josey wales), and two dogs. 7) we welcomed two nieces and one nephew into our family, and said goodbye to one amazing gedo. 8) we took trips, planned much, laughed more, and completed numerous goals. 9) we also broke promises, had quarrels, felt stressed, and felt lost. 10) most importantly, we have learned so much about life in general and about one another with each experience that i would not take any of them back.

i am so excited to see where you and i will be in the years to come. :-)

happy anniversary, *g*. i love you more than ever.

xx
