gifts you should get yourself this christmas

With the holiday season on the horizon, quite a few people are starting to think about presents. While you’ll have a few people to get gifts for, there’s one person you mightn’t have thought about; yourself.

Many people overlook getting themselves Christmas presents. It could be more than worth it, however. After all, who knows what you want better than you do? You’ll need to minimize the chances that you get yourself something that a loved one will, however.

If you already know what other people might get you, that can cut down on this. You still need to wonder: What Christmas gifts should you get for yourself? You could consider quite a few.

Christmas Presents You Should Get Yourself

Sleep Tracker

Many people have difficulty sleeping during the year. For some, that can get worse during the winter months. If you’re in this position, you might want to improve your sleep schedule. Using a sleep tracker could be a recommended option.

While these would be one of the more practical Christmas gifts, it’s still one worth considering. What could be better than getting your sleep schedule back to normal? A sleep tracker will analyze your sleep patterns and give you suggestions for improving your sleep quality.

After a short while, things should be back to normal.

Sandals

Sandals are one of the more reliable footwear that you can pick up. They’re something that many people might overlook. While you mightn’t wear these often during the winter months, they can be a wise investment once the spring and summer months come around.

Sandals could also be the more stylish and comfortable present to get yourself. With the wealth of brands on offer, such as Birkenstock, you shouldn’t have an issue finding a pair that fits your style.

It could even be worth picking up a few pairs to make sure you have options for any outfit.

Cosmetics Brush Collection

If you wear makeup a lot, then your brushes might look well-used. That’s going to be the case regardless of how well you take care of them and how often you clean them. It could be time to pick up a new brush collection.

Like some other potential Christmas gifts, there’s a wealth of options to choose from. These could be one of the more affordable options to choose from. It could be worth going for a larger brush collection that includes pieces of different sizes.

You’ll take your makeup game to the next level once you’ve got yourself a new box.

Loungewear

The holiday season isn’t exactly the warmest. There’ll be more than a few days where you’ll want to stay in and relax to enjoy the heat. Why not do so in some comfortable loungewear? There are more than a few outfits you can put together that’ll be warm and comfy.

Depending on your style, you could even add a robe to this. Putting comfort first means that you’ll have no problem relaxing over the holidays. Add in a new pair of slippers, and you won’t have to worry about the colder weather.

Perfume

Perfume may be one of the more obvious Christmas presents you can get yourself. That doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t get some, however. There’s quite a large price range of options, but it could be recommended that you go for one of the more expensive options.

After all, who wouldn’t want to smell great this holiday season? While you might want to go for the tried-and-true favorites, you could go with something new. Since many retailers have samples on offer to smell, there shouldn’t be an issue finding a fragrance you like.

If you’re planning on getting a few new outfits this Christmas, why not complete them with a fresh fragrance?

Why You Should Buy Christmas Presents For Yourself

You might wonder why you should buy Christmas presents for yourself. After all, the holiday season is supposed to be one for giving, so it might be strange to buy for yourself. It’s a lot more common than you’d think, however. There are a few reasons why.

Better Gifts

Nobody knows what you want for Christmas better than you do. As a result, you’ll be the best person to buy your gifts. You may already have an idea of what presents you’ll want to get. While people will get you some of these, they mightn’t get you all of them.

If there are some Christmas gifts that are really important to you, then it’s worth getting them yourself. That way, you wouldn’t have to be disappointed if you don’t get them.

Less Stress

Just because you’re getting yourself Christmas presents doesn’t mean that you have to wait until then to use them. You could use them beforehand to help relax. If you get yourself a spa treatment, that’s especially true.

Taking the time to relax could help with the stress that many people feel over the holidays. It can be quite hectic, after all. There’s nothing wrong with taking the time to look after yourself, so why not do so with some Christmas gifts?

Indulge Yourself

Everyone needs to pamper themselves sometimes. When’s a better time to do so than Christmas? Buying yourself a few presents to enjoy over the holiday season could be the perfect way of doing so. Depending on the gifts you get yourself, there could be multiple other benefits.

One of the best ways to indulge yourself is by getting a few presents to look after yourself. That could include some loungewear and a facemask to relax or a holiday to take the load off. Regardless, it’s a great way of indulging yourself.

There are multiple reasons why you should get yourself Christmas presents. At a minimum, you’ll be treating yourself to something nice. If there’s something that you want and you think nobody’s going to get it for you, then why not buy it for yourself?

Any of the above Christmas gifts could be more than worth the price. There shouldn’t be anything stopping you from picking them up.

it’s beginning to look a lot like christmas

christmas-2016-1Hey, everyone! Did you know that there are only twelve more days until Christmas? This holiday season not only marks the first Christmas that we’re celebrating with a baby, but also the first one that we’re celebrating with a tree! Somehow that seems to make it more official.

christmas-2016-2Our home is looking pretty festive. Not as festive as many other homes, but extremely festive for our standards. Since we’re establishing a wide variety of traditions this year, decorating our home seemed like another important one to start. So far, we put up Christmas lights, hung a wreath on our door, and purchased a little outdoor plant.

christmas-2016-7Inside our home is a different story. We set up and decorated a tree, wrapped some gifts, hung tree lights, and put scented candles all over the house.

christmas-2016-6christmas-2016-5We bought a fair number of ornaments for the tree this year, sticking to a white, black, and gold theme. Because we had to start from scratch, we also didn’t want to buy too many. I think that it would be fun to add to our collection each year, in addition to whatever Remy will make us as she grows older.

christmas-2016-8It will also be fun to look back at pictures of our tree every year and see how it’s changed. Honestly, I feel as if life is so much more exciting with a child! Why did we wait so long to have one?

(Early) Merry Christmas, all!

uncommongoods necklace gift

If you have been following my blog for awhile now, you will have noticed that I tend to stray away from cheaply made, overly trendy items. I much prefer all things that are unique and hold a certain meaning. UncommonGoods is one such company that sets itself apart from all other online markets. It is a place where those who are looking for truly memorable gifts can visit and find something special for everyone in their lives. Operating out of the Brooklyn Army Terminal, UncommonGoods offers mostly handcrafted items, each with its own story of why it was created. Several pieces are even made from recycled materials. Additionally, being a certified B Corporation ensures that they are also interested in resolving environmental and social issues. With sustainability and creativity being two of the company’s many goals, you can be sure that they offer only the best products.

With our anniversary and several family members’ birthdays being just around the corner, here are my favourite picks for some really exceptional gifts.

uncommongoods necklace

1. Links of Love Necklace.

About: “Artist Beth Lawrence created this stunning yet simple necklace, along with a bracelet and a pair of earrings, while she was pregnant with her first child. Thoroughly modern and extremely meaningful, her pieces subtly represents the ineffably strong connection a mother shares with her child. A gold filled ring adorned with twisted wire is permanently entwined with a smaller, sterling silver hoop and suspended from a sterling silver chain. A wonderful gift for new mothers, grandmothers, sisters, or best friends, the joined pieces are evocative of the infinite connection we possess with the special people in our lives and a reminder that they’re always there for us as we carry on through life’s struggles and successes. Handmade in Nashville, Tennessee.”
