every mornin’ i see him waiting at the home depot

PHOTO_2.jpgPHOTO_1.jpgPHOTO_3.jpg PHOTO_4.jpgPHOTO_5.jpg PHOT0_6.jpgPHOTO_7.jpg PHOTO_8.jpgPHOTO_9.jpgIf ever you have done a home renovation, chances are you have gone, more than once, to a local hardware store. Actually, no renovation needs to be involved. As long as you have ventured out from living under your parent’s roof and you either rent an apartment or own a house, you have most likely frequented one of these stores. I know that we often do.

Home Depot is a favourite of mine. I prefer its size and overall layout compared to other stores. I love that it has aisles upon aisles of lumber, paint, lights, flooring, and more. I like to go there and dream about all the possibilities that we can do to Little Green. It is our go-to store for appliances. Its plant section is also where I end up buying most of my succulents. This is not because they have the best options, though it is not horrible by any means. It is because most of their plants are $5 and under, a price that is unheard of at our local greenhouses. Yes, Home Depot, I will always treat entering your structure like an exciting date with my husband. Merely because you always seem to have what we want, and we never leave disappointed.

thursday’s tattooed twosome

IMG_1.jpg IMG_2.jpgIMG_4.jpg IMG_5.jpgIMG_6.jpg IMG_7.jpgOver the past two months, Geoffrey and I decided to add to our collection of tattoos. Does one even call it a collection? I suppose that’s what we are doing, albeit on our bodies. Although they varied greatly in size, we were both equally as proud of their outcome. Well, maybe we’re a little more proud of Geoff’s since his would have hurt a heck of a lot more.

While I understand that tattoos are not for everyone, they are for us. We are a young couple who strive to be unique, dream big everyday, and are courteous to others. I don’t see tattoos as acts of rebellion or a cries for attention. I view them as expressions of art and freedom within our culture. Everyone should know by now that you can’t judge a book by its cover. I think that we all could try harder to hold the importance of that metaphor above most others.

Enjoy February’s last weekend. See you all in March. <3

happy birthday

IMG_1.jpg IMG_2.jpgIMG_3.jpg Sunday is the birthday of my partner in life and love, my husband Geoffrey. He is the sweetest, most giving man that I have ever met, and I am so thankful that I was lucky enough to find him.

You’re Hastings to my Poirot, and Watson to my Sherlock. Let’s be together for many more birthdays. I love you, Geo!

Shopping Date Night.

IMG.jpg IMG_2.jpg IMG_3.jpgIMG_4.jpg IMG_5.jpgIMG_6.jpgIMG_1.jpgIMG_8.jpgIMG_9.jpg IMG_10.jpg IMG_11.jpg IMG_10.jpgSo it’s officially cold here in Canada. Not just a little chilly, but extremely frigid. I find it hard to get motivated to go out at night and get the last few items that we need before Christmas. This particular night that we went, it was -33°C/-27°F with the windchill! However, my husband and I were not going to let a little cold get in our way of our shopping date night.

We ended up going to three our favourite haunts to get supplies for blogging, crafting, and wrapping presents. By the end of our excursion, we were walking icicles. We made one more stop to pick up a movie, then came back to our cozy little home to curl up and watch it. At the end of the day, I really don’t mind how low the temperature is, as long as I am contented and warm and inside with my family. :-)))

this month we were lucky enough to get away for one night in order to have a winter road trip. our goals were to buy everyone’s christmas present, and to shop for ourselves. (we aren’t completely selfless!) while the trip went very quickly, it was an incredibly fun and productive one. :-))

this was also the first time that i shot only videos of our holiday! so readers, here is our vacation in 3 minutes. have a great week!!
