remy’s birthday photography

Nearly one month ago, we celebrated Remy turning three. I decided that I wanted to throw her a big party this year, given that last year’s party didn’t go as planned. I had originally booked a room at an indoor playground for her second birthday, but my side of the family were fighting with one another and were threatening not to come in order to avoid certain relatives, so I had to cancel it all to make them happy. In the end, it was such a chaotic and depressing birthday and I didn’t want that to be the case again this year. Hence a party for my best gal at one of our favourite places- the Western Development Museum.

The museum was so quiet that morning. I think there were only a few families besides our big group. We spent almost two hours running around. The kids went in and out of buildings, played on the old cars, with trains, and everything else that you could think of. When Remy wasn’t holding hands with her cousins or friend, she was getting held or chasing someone. She loved the attention and everyone there.

I had rented the Palace Theatre for the morning of March 2nd. That included a large room on the second floor, and entire balcony, and a few other little rooms that were up there. I also paid for a catered lunch. Honestly, it was the best and easiest thing ever. It was such a beautiful setting and everyone raved about the food. We had soup, wraps, sandwiches, cheese, pickles, pie, coffee, tea, juice, and more. It was very reasonably priced as well. I can’t wait to have more events there.

This and her Moonrise Kingdom party have been two of my greatest days ever. What a way to celebrate the previous year, as well as turning another year older. I love celebrating her, and getting friends and family together to do so as well. If only people could get along for the sake of a child. Hopefully in time everyone can happily coexist with one another. That would be wonderful.

four months old

Our happy, happy boy is four months old!

Honestly, I feel like this age is a milestone in itself. This is usually when:

– they have their first sleep regression
– they have a dip in hormone levels (or so I read)
– they receive their second immunizations
– they have another check-up appointment

So much is going on in their little lives! It’s no wonder that we have noticed a change in Wilder as well. He definitely likes to be awake more, and only takes three very short naps a day. (I think he will be down to two longer ones soon.) He loves to hold his head up all day long and we are working on getting him to sit on his own and stand more often. He loves meeting new people, but also adores his family. He is starting to not like the car seat as much. He loves walks and is quite content outside.

Over this last month, we ended up moving into a new home. We did the same thing with Remy when she was this exact age! I think that most would agree that moving with an infant is never easy, but Wilder did not make it difficult in the slightest. It only meant that unpacking took a bit longer than usual.

I also have decided to slowly introduce dairy back into my diet. I had cut it out as soon as I had Wilder in the event that it would upset his system much like it did Remy’s when she was a baby. I had been craving it so much, and having already eliminated eggs, nuts, caffeine, and spices (those I did notice bothered him), I thought that trying dairy couldn’t hurt. After a few days, I did not notice any fussiness, so now I can safely consume it. Yum!

Sleep, new house, needles, diet … not much change from three to four months. Right? ;-)))

video of my pregnancy journey

I am very excited to be sharing my pregnancy journey video with you today. I feel as if this pregnancy went much faster and smoother than my first one. Even though I don’t really enjoy being pregnant (from all of the worry and physical symptoms), I certainly do miss it when it is over.

I chose the song “Pray” by Sam Smith to accompany this video. Last year, when I was experiencing so many issues with my second pregnancy, I prayed and prayed for God to make the decision as to whether or not our baby would survive, and to help me accept the outcome. After I miscarried, I couldn’t believe that He chose to take our child away. However, deep down I knew that it was for a reason- one that I didn’t realize until Wilder was born.

I held off on praying for most of this pregnancy. That is, until the end. I was filled with worry that we might lose another one in the final weeks, so I began praying to be able to safely bring Wilder into this world. I did that every night until he was born, and by God’s grace, he was.

Now that Wilder is here, I understand that we had to lose our second child in order to have this beautiful, sweet, easy, calm, and happy baby. My blessed rainbow baby.

Feel free to look back at my first pregnancy video with little Remy.

38 weeks

Welcome November! Today I am 38 weeks and 4 days pregnant. How did this happen so quickly?! It felt as if the beginning months dragged on, only to speed up in the second trimester, and then go the speed of light during this last trimester. Yet, I am feeling so ready to welcome this baby into the world. From lots of false labour to other things dropping and falling out, we are good to go! I have actually began to indulge in the foods and drinks that supposedly induce natural labour. They include pineapples, dates, and red raspberry leaf tea.

Below I have created a compilation of growing belly photos this pregnancy at 8, 18, 28, and 38 weeks. It wasn’t as drastic as I had imagined it to be. Maybe because the weight spreads all over my body rather than staying only on my stomach. I almost feel as if it is more of a hair evolution over the last 7 months. (And now I am back to short and blonde again!)

I am planning for this to be my last post until December. I gave birth to Remy during my 38th week, so I am preparing to take an early break this time around. I will be sure to update everyone with newborn spam eventually.

Here is my week 38 update with my not-so-little girl.

See you soon! Wish us luck!
