October to January are probably the busiest 4 months around our home. I am guessing that may be true for lots of people. With October comes four birthdays, Thanksgiving, and Halloween. My birthday and most of our Christmas shopping occurs in November. December brings Christmas, more shopping, two additional birthdays, and New Years Eve. Finally, January is all about making changes and celebrating my husband’s birthday. It never ends!
My mentality has always been to work hard and play very little. However, the older I get, the more I realize that work is not everything. I am starting to see how important it is to take the time to unwind, if only for an hour a day. Hanging out with friends is something that almost never happens, but is also something that I am trying to incorporate into my life more. This may only come once a month, but when it does, I make sure to set aside an entire evening to do so. Games night is a great example how I like to spend time relaxing with friends.
Now that we are in the final weeks before Christmas, please make sure you also take some time out for yourselves! This will help you unwind, regroup, and feel rejuvenated for the holiday season. With all of the planning and stress that goes into it, it’s sometimes easy to forget the real meaning of Christmas.
Have a wonderful Wednesday!
