happy easter

Happy belated Easter!!

I had the idea to have an Easter egg hunt in a field after first reading “Happy Easter, Little Critter” to our children last year. It’s one of our favourite Little Critter books and it’s just so darn cute.

So last year, I hid some eggs in the field directly behind our house and one afternoon that Easter weekend the kids searched for some eggs. I documented it all. Even though I was newly pregnant and very nauseated, we all had so much fun.

This year, I decided to hide the eggs in the farmer’s field beside the park that we walk to almost on a daily basis. It has a few more hills and trees than ours, and I thought that it would be a different experience for Remy and Wilder.

Also, baby sister was here to join us this year and she certainly made it all much cuter!

In all honesty, they love searching for eggs more than the gifts and the chocolate they receive at Easter. I hope to continue this tradition for many years to come. (I may even include the neighbour children next year just like in the book!)

Hope your Easter was hopping!

28 weeks / 7 months pregnant / 3rd trimester

Hello, 3rd trimester!! I’m thrilled that you are here. I am feeling as big as a house and am getting more and more excited to meet our newest babe.

In the last few weeks, baby’s skin has been turning pinker. She has been practising smelling with her nose, and for the first time ever, she can now open her eyes! She can also taste now.

She has doubled in weight over the last month and now weighs over 2 lbs. She is around 15” long!

The first set of pictures were taken two weeks ago. Directly above are the ones that were taken when I was pregnant with Wilder. I recycled the same outfit and location for both. How things have changed.

eleventh anniversary

Yesterday we celebrated our 11th wedding anniversary.

As we are preparing to add another new life into our family, I can’t help but reflect on the early days of our relationship. Little did we know when we first started dating where our lives would lead us. In fact, we were planning on living very different lives. I was headed to Edinburgh, Scotland to undertake my Masters degree in Art History, and Geoffrey was finishing his last year of his BA at university.

We had planned on having a very new and very long distance relationship for the first year. However, I ended up not going, and that’s when we really began our lives together. We were quick to become engaged, buy our first place together (with the help of our parents), and then get married. Over the next 5 years, we travelled, worked hard, moved a few times, adopted a few animals, really got to know one another, and truly enjoyed just having one another.

These last 6 years have been all about our family. They’ve obviously been very different, but just as loving and enjoyable.

One never really knows how their life will turn out when they get married, and to me, that is just so fascinating. Hopefully it is for the better, and much comes from your marriage! But whether or not you choose to is completely up to you. I’m just thankful that I did, and we did together.

Happy anniversary, Geo. Pictures were taken by Oarsman Photography.

merry christmas

Another year has passed us by and already it is Christmas.

Even though 2020 was one for the books (and not in a good way), we still made it through. I feel as if next year can only be better in every way. More happy, more healthy, more lighthearted, more fun. Let’s hope that it is!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all of you!!

Best wishes,

Emory, Geoffrey, Remy & Wilder

wilder is two

Our beloved boy will be turning 2 years old on Sunday.

He has changed so much over this past year, going from no teeth to now 18 of them, he is potty trained, talks, sings, knows his colours and ABCs, and so much more! He loves vehicles, animals, and books.

He truly lives up to his wild name, and we couldn’t love him more! Happy birthday, big boy!!
