happy mother’s day

“There is no role in life that is more essential than that of motherhood.”
Elder M. Russell Ballard

“A mother understands what a child does not say.”
Jewish proverb

“The art of mothering is to teach the art of living to children.”
Elaine Heffner

“When you look at your mother, you are looking at the purest love you will ever know.”
Mitch Albom

Once again, I had a hard time just picking one quote. So many of them spoke to me! What is your favourite quote about motherhood?

This is my fourth Mother’s Day. Here we are, in our element. Safe and at home on our prairie acreage. Warm spring days. Remy and Wilder stealing the show. Me trying to keep up with them both.

Happy Mother’s Day to every mama out there. Whether or not you get to squeeze your children on Sunday, I hope that you can make the most of your day. You give your children the world, and so you deserve the world in return.

happy easter

It has been a long winter here in Saskatchewan, and as of last week the wind was still blowing and the snow was still coming down. Part of me feels as if there is no end in sight to these cold months, but then the sun comes out and I see the geese returning and I am reminded that it is spring after all.

I wanted to include a quote within this post in order to remind myself (and any others that might need it) that warmer days are near. However, I ended up coming across so many wonderful ones that I couldn’t help but include them all!

I wish nothing but hopefulness and sunshine and rejuvenation for you during this season. Happy Easter from our little prairie family to you!!

“No winter lasts forever; no spring skips its turn.”
Hal Borland

“The reappearance of the light is the same as the survival of the soul.”
Victor Hugo

“Spring adds new life and new joy to all that is.”
Jessica Harrelson

“April hath put a spirit of youth in everything.”
William Shakespeare

“Spring shows what God can do with a drab and dirty world.”
Virgil A. Kraft

“You can cut all the flowers but you cannot keep spring from coming.”
Pablo Neruda

“To plant a garden is to believe in tomorrow.”
Audrey Hepburn

“Where flowers bloom, so does hope.”
Lady Bird Johnson

“That is one good thing about this world … there are always sure to be more springs.”
L.M. Montgomery
