instagram in january

Since this is the first month of 2018, I wanted to make sure that I am up-to-date with my fellow Instagrammers!

I adore the people and connections that I have made through Instagram. I personally feel as if it’s a great community to reach out to others who share similar interests or lifestyles. In my case, that would namely be mamas. I’ve went beyond being social media friends with many of them, and have exchanged phone numbers, addresses, gifts, and more! I used to post daily (who has time for that anymore), but have gone to only posting about twice a week. However, I am more frequent in my stories.

Here are some of my photos this month:

New tattoos.

Church bound, although I’m not sure where Remy is going.

Monkey jumping on the bed.

Happy birthday, dear husband.

January details.

Viewing acreages for sale.

Some stories:

Renovating our kitchen.

Remy helping dada.

Early morning walks.

a sign for the little barn

Pike Lake Sign - 5In a bid to improve the exterior of The Little Barn, ordering an address sign was certainly a must.

Pike Lake Sign - 2I went through the same online company that we used for Little Green’s sign. Rather than choosing a bronze and gold cast aluminum plaque, this time I selected a green and silver one. It better matched the gooseneck lighting and hardware for the sliding doors.

Pike Lake Sign - 3Because of the uneven nature of the siding, Geoffrey had to first install a piece of reclaimed wood to ensure that the sign would fasten securely to the house.

Pike Lake Sign - 7Pike Lake Sign - 8Remy watched to make sure that we did a job. It was so hot and windy that day!

Pike Lake Sign - 4We still need to stain the exterior of the house and deck and order a fence. The renos never end, even on a new home.

talkie thursdays.

the money pit (1986).

money_pitmoney_pit4money_pit3money-pit2money_pit5

i fell in love with the money pit before i was even old enough to relate to the movie.

as a little girl, i thought it was just so darn funny! in my mind, tom hanks was a one man show, and it did not matter as to how many times i watched the talkie, he always made me laugh until i cried.

i love clue for its massive home, hilarity, and innocence, and the money pit reminds me of it in such similar ways.

however, clue will never have tom hanks. nor will it have this scene.

and who can forget that bathtub? hilarious!

inevitably, i could not write about all of our own renovations without referring to the money pit in some way.

if you have not yet seen it, you truly are missing out on such a side-splitting talkie.

p.s. happy 4th of july, everyone!
