s + b + r by the bessborough

This was my second time photographing a young family outside of the Bessborough this fall. I absolutely love this location. It offers so much diversity, and the pictures turn out like nothing else in my portfolio. In a good way, of course! This couple was so in love with their daughter, and with one another. They were sweet and inspiring. More sessions like these, please.

These are just a few of those photographs. To book a session of your own, please visit Prudence + Me Photography.

fall pet session

When I was first contacted by M + T, I was asked if I could photograph them with their cat and dog. I was told that they were turned down by a few other photographers because of their pets. How could I say no after hearing that? I’ll admit that I was a little nervous to photograph a cat in an open conservation area. Yet, it would only mean that I would have something else to add to my resume. Plus, they were all so easy to work with! The cat was actually the most laid back one in the bunch.

a whimsical wedding

This couple from this wedding so reminded me of two characters in a Wes Anderson film. They were quirky and entertaining and had a charming ceremony in a location that any film director would be jealous of. I was so grateful to be part of their day!

cake smash photography

Before becoming a mother, I don’t think that I knew what cake smashes were. Sure, I had seen babies dive into cakes and cupcakes on their first birthdays. They would get super messy, and everyone would take photos and coo over how cute they looked. I didn’t know that it was an actual thing to have a photography session that solely involved smashing a cake to bits. Now I do, and I find that they are so popular!

There are so many elements involved in a cake smash session.

Over the last month or so, I’ve photographed two very different cake smashes. The first one was actually a donut smash. It was a 30-minute session that included family photos before the smash, and then the smash itself. The second session was quite a contrast. It was an hour long, there was two outfit changes, and the family photos occurred after the cake smash.

Both were quite fun, and again, both babies reacted quite differently to the sweet treats in front of them. I love not knowing how much they will actually smash, and how they will feel about the cake. It’s always so cute to see!

These are just a few of those photographs. To see more, or to book your own session, visit Prudence + Me Photography.
