4 months old

Beau is now four months old!

Here are some recent changes:

– laughs often

– sits in a Bumbo chair

– grabs everything with her hands and puts it in her mouth

– naps for either 3 short ones or 2 longer ones per day

– drinks water out of a cup

– has started sucking on hard fruits and vegetables and loves it!

Born in the 50th percentile for head, length, and weight, she is now in the 85th. She is growing beautifully and is a wonderful nurser. She has been such an easy baby thus far.

Here is a look back at Wilder’s 4 month update as well as Remy’s same update. It’s wild how similar they are to Beau’s.

Now to begin the dreaded sleep regressions. Have a good one!

five months old

Wilder is now five months old! This last month was one of much growth and change.

He has now found his voice. He squeals when he is happy, and yells at us when he doesn’t like something (usually being in one position for too long). He is also starting to imitate our sounds.

He is the picture of literal joy when he hears or sees Remy. He likes to sit or stand. He now wiggles out of everything if he is not strapped in. He is much more energetic than before. We have started to call him Bamm-Bamm because he is so lively with his arms.

Wilder is on the tail end of his first sleep regression, just in time for the beginning stages of teething. I remember this phase well with Remy. It threw me for a loop with her, but I feel like it’s not really a big deal with the second child. Maybe because I know what to expect?

He is still not into books and music like she was at this age. He much rather prefers to just contently watch us all. He is so good!

Only one more month until Wilder begins solids. Time, where have you gone?

four months old

Our happy, happy boy is four months old!

Honestly, I feel like this age is a milestone in itself. This is usually when:

– they have their first sleep regression
– they have a dip in hormone levels (or so I read)
– they receive their second immunizations
– they have another check-up appointment

So much is going on in their little lives! It’s no wonder that we have noticed a change in Wilder as well. He definitely likes to be awake more, and only takes three very short naps a day. (I think he will be down to two longer ones soon.) He loves to hold his head up all day long and we are working on getting him to sit on his own and stand more often. He loves meeting new people, but also adores his family. He is starting to not like the car seat as much. He loves walks and is quite content outside.

Over this last month, we ended up moving into a new home. We did the same thing with Remy when she was this exact age! I think that most would agree that moving with an infant is never easy, but Wilder did not make it difficult in the slightest. It only meant that unpacking took a bit longer than usual.

I also have decided to slowly introduce dairy back into my diet. I had cut it out as soon as I had Wilder in the event that it would upset his system much like it did Remy’s when she was a baby. I had been craving it so much, and having already eliminated eggs, nuts, caffeine, and spices (those I did notice bothered him), I thought that trying dairy couldn’t hurt. After a few days, I did not notice any fussiness, so now I can safely consume it. Yum!

Sleep, new house, needles, diet … not much change from three to four months. Right? ;-)))
