instagram in january

Since this is the first month of 2018, I wanted to make sure that I am up-to-date with my fellow Instagrammers!

I adore the people and connections that I have made through Instagram. I personally feel as if it’s a great community to reach out to others who share similar interests or lifestyles. In my case, that would namely be mamas. I’ve went beyond being social media friends with many of them, and have exchanged phone numbers, addresses, gifts, and more! I used to post daily (who has time for that anymore), but have gone to only posting about twice a week. However, I am more frequent in my stories.

Here are some of my photos this month:

New tattoos.

Church bound, although I’m not sure where Remy is going.

Monkey jumping on the bed.

Happy birthday, dear husband.

January details.

Viewing acreages for sale.

Some stories:

Remy helping dada.

Early morning walks.

Do you have Instagram? If so, please leave your handle in the comments. Or you can follow me here, and let me know that you have read my blog. I’ll be sure to follow you back if I’m not already!

IMG_3142-1024x768Monday, Monday. Where has the time gone? It’s the start of a new week already, but I feel like today should be Saturday. These past few days have been such a whirlwind. Why, you may ask? Well, I’ll get to that on Wednesday! You must all know by now that I have a tendency to leave you guys in suspense. ;-)

Not only is it the beginning of a new week, but it is also the start of a new month! That means that HaveHeart’s June issue just came out. Have you checked it out yet? I am particularly proud of the article that I wrote this month, mainly because it is an entirely different approach from my regular DIYs. This is something that I have been living with for nearly half of my life. Something that I feel very proud about, but do not always receive positive feedback from. It is something that can create a bond between certain individuals, but a barrier with others. It is something that I have been wanting to write about and share with the world especially lately, but did not really have an opportunity to do so up until recently.

If you would like to know what I am referring to, please click here. Then please share on Facebook, Pinterest, and Twitter! HaveHeart loves people who support and engage other amazing people. That’s what the world should be about, don’t you think?

sunny day real estate

IMG_3.jpg IMG_4.jpgIMG_5.jpg IMG_6.jpgIMG_1.jpg IMG_7.jpgIMG_8.jpg IMG_9.jpgIMG_10.jpg IMG_11.jpgIMG_12.jpg IMG_13.jpgI have decided that today is the day that I am going to divulge a secret. Because if I can’t be honest on my own blog, then what is the point of having one? So here it is. Geoffrey and I are currently on the market for an acreage. I was so hesitant about writing about our journey thus far simply due to the fact that Little Green has been such a huge part of our lives and Hello, Scarlett. From our story of purchase, to our renovations, to our change in decor, our home has been instrumental in our lives over the past year and a half. I cannot believe that we have lived here for less than two years. It feels much longer, but in the best way possible.

On this particular day that we went and looked at an acreage, I went and ran a few unrelated errands beforehand. The day began with a trip to my dependable dollar store, followed by a much needed coffee break. My tattoo appointment came next, then home, a late drive-thru lunch with the husband, and a few hours of driving around looking at empty lots and acreages. Believe it or not, the was the second Saturday that one of us had a tattoo booked before a showing (Geoff started this trend). Our scheduled viewing was at the little, grey acreage that you can see in the last three photos. Although it’s close to what we are looking for, it’s still not our dream property. However, it’s only a matter of time.

thursday’s tattooed twosome

IMG_1.jpg IMG_2.jpgIMG_4.jpg IMG_5.jpgIMG_6.jpg IMG_7.jpgOver the past two months, Geoffrey and I decided to add to our collection of tattoos. Does one even call it a collection? I suppose that’s what we are doing, albeit on our bodies. Although they varied greatly in size, we were both equally as proud of their outcome. Well, maybe we’re a little more proud of Geoff’s since his would have hurt a heck of a lot more.

While I understand that tattoos are not for everyone, they are for us. We are a young couple who strive to be unique, dream big everyday, and are courteous to others. I don’t see tattoos as acts of rebellion or a cries for attention. I view them as expressions of art and freedom within our culture. Everyone should know by now that you can’t judge a book by its cover. I think that we all could try harder to hold the importance of that metaphor above most others.

Enjoy February’s last weekend. See you all in March. <3

hello day off.

IMG_14.jpg

a few weeks ago, an event occurred that only comes around a few times a year. i had the day off!!!

that’s right, friends. with currently having 4 jobs, i work everyday doing at least 1 of them. just to make my life a little busier, i also have this wonderful blog and ballet twice a week. but i would not change a thing. :-)))

very much by accident, my husband had an e.d.o. that happened to fall on a day that i was not scheduled to work. i decided to keep it that way, and to just have a fun day filled with family, love, and much randomness. here is a peek into my day of leisure:

IMG_1.jpg

7:00 am. wake up to this beautiful sight in our little loft.

7:15 am. take truman capote for his morning run.

8:00 am. get ready for the day.

9:00 am. drive to my parent’s acreage to pick up my mum (she currently has a broken foot). first, though, i make a stop at tim hortons to pick us up some coffee. i am canadian, after all.

IMG_4.jpgIMG_3.jpgIMG_2.jpg

10:30 am. meet my husband at … a tattoo parlor! that’s right. all 3 of us are getting tatted up!

IMG_5.jpg

11:00 am. after having booked appointments for the near future, we then go out for brunch. it was delicious.

12:00 pm. drive my mum back to her house.

IMG_10.jpg IMG_7.jpg IMG_8.jpg IMG_9.jpg

1:00 pm. i come back into town, pick up my husband, and we are off to the university to meet my step-dad. it’s time for a new computer.

IMG_11.jpg

2:00 pm. after picking out a bigger and better macbook, we come back home and take holly and truman for another walk. we are thoroughly enjoying this indian summer.

3:00-9:00 pm. finally in the house and settled, we relax, have supper, tidy up, watch a few episodes of our shows, and go for the last walk of the night.

IMG_12.jpg IMG_13.jpg

9:00 pm. now my favorite part of the weekend; renting a movie. (we choose the dvd v/h/s. it is so good!)

12:00 am. after returning home and watching the film, it is now bedtime for everyone in little green. what a wonderful day. :-)

have a beautiful and relaxing weekend, y’all!
